Authoritative sequence:
1. lunge left with both feet planted;
2. lunge right with both feet still planted;
3. keep left foot planted and move right foot in beside it;
4. keep right foot planted and step left foot outward;
5. descend into the next left lunge and repeat.

No extra step exists between the left and right lunges. No live IK or runtime foot solver is used.
