# NEXT11 V300 — Grip Entry Contract Rehydrated Root

## Status

This is a real root built from `NEXT11_V297_REHYDRATED_V286_BASE_ROOT`. It is **not** a finger-release build.

V300 implements the recovered grip-entry contract: arm approach, first palm contact, wrist/forearm-axis roll for second palm, shifted-surface/object-meet gate, and then a hard stop before fingers because thumb-down has not been verified by an approved thumb-axis probe.

## Runtime checks

- `node --check` root runtime: PASS
- `node --check` asset runtime: PASS
- root/runtime and asset/runtime identical: PASS
- browser runtime: PASS
- side diagnostics: PASS

## Browser results

| Side | grip status | entry gate | object meet | forearm roll | 1st palm | 2nd palm | fingers |
|---|---|---:|---:|---:|---:|---:|---|
| right | `PALM_CONTACT_READY_THUMB_DOWN_GATE_PENDING` | `GRIP_ENTRY_FRAME_USABLE` | 0.00289 m | 73° | 0 m | 0.00037 m | blocked |
| left | `PALM_CONTACT_READY_THUMB_DOWN_GATE_PENDING` | `NEEDS_NEUTRALIZE_BEFORE_SOLVE_GRIP` | 0.07784 m | 115° | 0 m | 0.00012 m | blocked |

## Important interpretation

- Left still starts from the V297/V286 entry warning: `NEEDS_NEUTRALIZE_BEFORE_SOLVE_GRIP` and ~29.9 mm required outward hand shift. V300 does **not** solve that as hand-only translation.
- Instead, V300 lets the arm reach first palm contact and permits lower-leg/object meet up to 80 mm. Left uses 77.84 mm, so it is inside the V294 dev limit but close to the ceiling.
- After shifted-surface meet, V300 holds the first palm point and rolls the hand around the forearm axis. This brings the second palm point onto the shifted outside surface on both sides.
- `pass` remains false by design, because that is the existing switch that would release V68/V200 fingers. The new palm contact result is recorded as `palmContactReady`, while `preFingerReady` remains false until thumb-down is verified.

## Thumb-down gate

The user contract requires thumb down before fingers close. V300 does not write thumb bones and does not yet have an approved actual thumb-axis probe. Therefore the V300 palm frame gate reports:

```text
PALM_CONTACT_READY_THUMB_DOWN_GATE_PENDING
```

This is intentional. It prevents a fake finger release while preserving the good palm/contact solve.

## Next safe step

V301 should add an actual thumb-axis probe/visual gate only. It should not curl fingers and should not move arm/leg/hand. Once thumb-down is proven, then V302 can release the V295 child-only finger layer.
